RESUMEN
Se realizó un estudio observacional
descriptivo a 62 gerentes que presentaron por lo menos una caída,
pertenecientes al Policlínico Universitario de
solo 15 seniles sufrieron una caída previa
y consumían más de seis fármacos el
62,9% de ellos lo que se relaciona con las caídas, la discapacidad Visual predominó en el 59,7% de
los AM, como factores ambientales, los
suelos resbaladizos se encontraron en 24,1% y el Síndrome Geriátrico de Inmovilización estuvo
presente en 29,3 % de los casos.
Recomendamos considerar en el Examen
Periódico de Salud del adulto mayor, a
las caídas como uno de los Síndromes geriátricos prioritarios a diagnosticar. Proponemos
establecer el Plan de Acción Integral
para la atención a los adultos mayores en relación al Síndrome de Caídas como genuina estrategia
para enfrentar el problema de salud.

ABSTRACT
Was a descriptive
observational study 62 managers that showed at least one fall, belonging to the
University Polyclinic of the family? Alex Urquiola Marrero? in
the period from January to December of 2010. With the aim of characterizing
clinically and epidemiologically falls in the same syndrome. The collected data
were analyzed in whole numbers and by hundreds and presented in simple
frequency distribution tables. 9.1% Of the senile had
suffered a fall, of which 71% belonged to the fourth age and female contributed
the largest number of cases. Mostly found associated chronic diseases were the
musculoskeletal, while only 15 senile suffered a prior fall and consumed more
than six drugs 62.9% of them dealing with falls, Visual disability predominated
in 59.7% of the AM, as environmental factors, slippery floors found in 24.1%
and the immobilization geriatric Syndrome was present at 29.3% of cases. We
recommend considering in the newspaper review of health of the elderly, falls as
one of the priority geriatric syndromes to diagnose. We propose to establish
comprehensive Action Plan for care for the elderly in relation to the syndrome
of falls as a genuine strategy to deal with the problem of health.
