RESUMEN

 

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de describir las principales técnicas que permiten la identificación de las personas, basadas en las  características morfológicas del aparato estomatognático. La bibliografía fue tomada de las bibliotecas del Instituto de Medicina Legal de Holguín, de 105 bibliografías encontradas se utilizaron 31, de la Universidad Médica de Holguín, de 28 bibliografías encontradas se utilizaron 4 y del Sistema Computarizado de Medicina, de 98 bibliografías encontradas se utilizaron 7. Los dientes ofrecen mucha información para la comparación de los datos ante-mortem con los post-mortem. En primer lugar, porque al estar formados por el tejido más duro del cuerpo humano; por la relación forma-tamaño de su anatomía y por la protección física que encuentran sus raíces, al estar enclavadas en los huesos maxilar superior y mandíbula, aparece como única fuente de información prácticamente intacta en la etapa post-mortem. Son múltiples las técnicas utilizadas para la identificación de personas y todas ellas cumplen su función complementaria, y el mayor peso específico de una u otra varía en cada tipo de catástrofe, según sus circunstancias y la disponibilidad o no de datos ante-mortem, por lo que el estudio de los dientes supone un elemento esencial en la identificación de cadáveres.

ABSTRACT

A bibliographic review in order to describe the main techniques that allow for the identification of persons, based on the morphological characteristics of the Stomatognathic device was made. The bibliography was taken from the libraries of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Holguín, 105 found bibliographies were 31, of the Medical University of Holguín, of 28 found bibliographies were 4 and of the computerized system of medicine, of 98 found bibliographies were 7. Teeth provide much information for the comparison of the data with post-mortem ante-mortem. Firstly, because to be formed by the tissue harder to the human body; for relationship forma-tamano of its anatomy and physical protection to find their roots, at being locked in bone, maxilla and mandible, appears as the sole source of information virtually intact in the stage post-mortem. Techniques for the identification of people are multiple and all of them satisfy their complementary function, and the greater weight of one specific or ante-mortem, another varies in each type of catastrophe, according to their circumstances and availability or not of data so the study of teeth is an essential element in the identification of bodies.
